SPARC Passport to Charities Event – Click for Details

May 18, 2013 @ 6:30 am - 8:00 am

This coming Saturday SPARC (Student Philanthropists Advancing Real Change) will hold its 3rd Annual Passport to Charities event. This is the largest charitable gathering in one place in all of Los Angeles and it takes place on the football field at Maranatha High School. We need ten scouts (a couple of Dads would be great too) to help us set up 60+ pop-up tents (like the ones you see at soccer games) from 6:30am – 8:00am. Starbucks will be serving hot chocolate/coffee and providing muffins and cake to fuel our work. A number of our Scouts are SPARC participants so come support them if you can. No uniform required, but wear a Class B to identify yourself as a Troop 355 member to the community. Community service hours will be granted for your help at this event.

All Troop 355 Members and Families are welcome at the event starting at 11:30am. There will be 50 local charities present that you can meet and learn about what they do for our community; plus Pie and Burger will be serving lunch. It’s a great event if you need to find an organization to secure volunteer hours for school, identify an Eagle project, or just want to learn more about our community.

I hope you will join us for one or both of the set up and the event itself. Set-up participants (and their families) may stay and meet with the Charities at 9am with the SPARC participants if you wish.

Please email our Community Services Director Mr. Jaffrey at jdj@coronalmanagement.com if you can help us out with the morning set-up.
