Philmont Training Hike: Echo Mountain. All scouts and parents are invited – click for details

Echo Mountain is the classic training hike for our Philmont trekkers – it is a 5.2 mile hike round trip, and it provides a great workout with over 1300 feet of elevation gain. The Philmont 2015 trekkers will be hiking Echo on Sunday morning, and all scouts and parents are welcome to join us. This would be a great hike for any younger scout thinking of getting more involved in our hiking or backpacking program, especially for those who missed Kern – scouts will be able to get the 5 mile hike signoff on this hike. Bring your 10 essentials plus your scout handbook for the signoffs. We will meet at 6:55 a.m. at the top of Lake Street in Altadena, where Lake meets Loma Alta. We will be finished between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m.
